A pair of pliers and a cut knuckle later, we were able to get under the heatsink to see what revision of the chipset we actually had. I would have liked to have seen the ATX header mounted in the empty space occupying the upper right hand corner where the logo is, though. What is interesting then about this picture is what is missing. I would suggest breaking it loose and using some well placed paste.

Escape From Tarkov FS: As far as mainboard chipsets go, I would have to agree with them adio that issue. I highly suggest you check the manual for the specific nForce chipset board you buy, as memory matrix configurations are different between manufacturers.

First, check out the red cable left in the picture. Most boards we see with on-board sound have a three plug header under the gameport. What is interesting then about this picture is what is missing.

That is really my only “gripe” regarding the layout; although I don’t see the placement being a serious issue with much anybody. Is it hella kewl? Yes, it is a “backwards” PCI slot.
Not this time round, though. If you are counting six, and think they mounted one a little bit off, think again. Since we are dealing with two channels of bandwidth for simultaneous memory access, they have broken the DIMM slots into two groups.
You a7m266 notice that the layout of the memory slots is bit different than what you might be used to seeing.
There is plenty of room in the “no mount” zone, so it should be pretty easy to mount all but the largest HSFs. First, wake the hell up, because you most likely have been asleep since June. If you are not the least bit familiar with the nForce chipset, please let us make a few recommendations.

We did mount the current model Alpha PAL without any trouble at all. Because of this, they can save on design costs and the raw parts are already available. That is where we get the “-E” at the end of A7NE.
Overall, Asus has smartly thought out the A7NE, and that will of course make audi of us happy. The heatsink was attached with pins as well as an adhesive. Pay close attention to DASP, HyperTransport, and the TwinBank memory architecture, as they are probably the three most important features that are going to give the [H]ardcore techie the chubbage.
